Despite what it says on their website, Rainbow’s End Cafe is entirely vegan now, thanks to the new owners. Even better? The food is ridiculously good.
Head to the back left corner of the Rainbow’s End market and you’ll see a little door to vegan heaven (AKA where you order your food).
Offering a wide range of cafe options, the highlight of this menu are the creations by local vegan Chef Mayra, of Pura Vida fame. We’re talking an avocado and mango “chick” bowl of oven-baked sprouted tortilla filled with organic spinach, basmati, black beans, a vegan chicken patty marinated in coconut and mango sauce and topped with avocado and cilantro. Or, the Cuban rice and black beans with baked bananas.
Aside from all the goodness which is the legendary Chef Mayra, they’ve also got heaps of other offerings like ranging from burgers (classic/vegan bacon/avocado sprouts) to gorgeous salads, Greek pizza, and combo meals.
The spot also offers a raw menu that includes a spinach-avocado-goji salad, kale salad, avocado fries, romaine wrap and even a raw portobello burger and raw tacos.
Don’t skip out on the tofu tomato soup. It’s a little slice of cold-day-comfort-heaven, even if the temps are blazing outside.
After you’ve eaten all the eats, explore the grocery store in the same vicinity (chances are, you walked through it to get to the dining area anyway).
