Get ready for some big news! We’ve discovered another Pho restaurant with vegan offerings. That makes four we’ve found (if you’re keeping track, it’s Lemongrass on the Eastside of town, Le Pho Downtown and Pho Kim Long in Chinatown).
This mom-and-pop restaurant tucked into a strip mill on N. Durango has only been open since 2015. The owners, who relocated to Las Vegas from Charleston, NC, previously operated a restaurant of the same name there. Popular with locals, the Las Vegas branch needs some of the same love.
While dubbed a vegetarian menu, it’s heavy on the vegan offerings, including one of the best broths we’ve had in town. It’s not loaded with veggies like other pho restaurants, but if you want additional, all you’ve got to do is ask.
We love spice, and Pho Vietnam Grille has a gorgeous garlic chili sauce to mix into the broth, along with the other Pho staples. We didn’t stop at the Pho, though. We also ordered up the large tofu summer rolls and, at the owner, Kim’s suggestion, we also tried the broken rice dish. Think smaller pieces of rice served alongside a massive plate of veggies and deep fried tofu, complemented by an absolutely fantastic ginger sauce. Seriously. We could drink it.
But, what we love more about this restaurant is how lovely the owners, Kim and Rick, are. They took the time to hang out, talk about the menu and when it came time to pack up the to-go’s, they even added some additional broth to recreate the Pho in the comfort of our homes.
