Built during the height of themed hotels on The Strip, Luxor is modeled after the city of the same name in Egypt. Complete with a pyramid shooting out a massive 315,000-watt beam of light visible throughout the Las Vegas Valley (and the I-15 when you pass State Line/Primm), along with a replica of the Sphinx, and shopping, this resort is part-fantasy thanks to its exotic exterior.
Inside, this dimly lit casino is home to numerous restaurants, including an Irish pub, as well as Criss Angel/Cirque du Soliel’s “BeLIEve,” and Carrot Top. Amenities include an outdoor pool, spa and salon and fitness center.
The 30-story main building features rooms and suites with slanted walls, while the other buildings are basic rooms. Standard rooms include flat screens and WiFi.
Luxor is located on the South Strip, in a quieter area. It is nearby the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and McCarran Airport.
